Hi, I'm Oguzhan
Data Analyst
For the past ten years I've cooked professionally in Eskişehir, on the Antalya coast, and eventually in kitchens in Maryland and Texas. In every restaurant, I strove to reduce waste, whether it was food or time, and I enjoyed the satisfaction of optimizing my processes. The kitchens changed, but many of the problems didn't, and this began to fuel a passion for finding patterns and opportunities for improvement. This curiosity and appreciation for optimization is what led me to my projects in analytics.
My art history degree translates better than people expect. Both fields ask you to look closely, hold several things in view at once, and find the pattern that isn't obvious at first glance. I've recently finished a few certificates and am working on personal projects across data I actually care about — health, running, and visualizations.
I'm from Türkiye, live in San Antonio, and speak Turkish and English. When I'm not working through a dataset, I'm cooking, looking after my cat Merlin, or drinking tea.
If you're wondering how to say my name, the "ğ" is soft, so it sounds like oh-ooz-HAHN. There are few better sounds than hearing your own name said right.
Kolay gelsin — may your work come easy.
